Health Centre

The Health Centre offers free medical treatment to students, staff and their families. There are specialists attached to the Centre who offer expert medical advice. The Health Centre situated in the University's main campus, is located near the B-Hostel building. It is open from 9-00 a.m. to 12-00 noon and 4-00 p.m. to 6-00 p.m. on all working days. The Chief Medical Officer, assisted by a team of competent doctors, heads it. Staff and students receive only out-patient treatment at this Centre. Besides this, each of the Constituent Colleges has its own Health Centre located within its premises.

Health Programs

• We have conducted Free Health Camps like Diabetic, Ophthalmology (distributing free spectacles), Cardiology and Dental Camps in the Health Centre for employees and students with the cooperation of Corporate Hospitals and Charitable Clubs.
• During the Covid-19 Epidemic, the Doctors at the Health Centre visited the Hostels distributed pamphlets to bring awareness among employees and students Community, Screening of employees, Sanitizing and Fogging in the offices premises & staff quarters periodically by sanitation staff.

Achievements

• Un like earlier purchasing Medicines from Open market, we put sincere effort and succeeded in procuring Medicine from M/s. Jeevandhara Gandhi Hospital outlet since 8 years. They are giving maximum Concession of up to 70%. Hence we could extended the facility of Providing regular as well as Special Medicine like Anti Diabetic and anti Hypertension etc to regular as well as nearly 2,600 Contract Employees, even employees of Constituent Colleges and PG centres in District Colleges.
• We have been able to detect quite a few new Diabetic, Thyroid and Hypertensive cases every week and providing necessary drugs. We have also detected a number of cases of C.A.D. and C.V.A. and admitting them at Cardiac ICCU in nearby Osmania Hospital/ Gandhi Hospital / AMS/ NIMS/ Private Hospitals and supervising their Health Conditions regularly.
• In the Dengue season (2019) we performed nearly more than 100 platelet count tests and detected 5-10 low platelet count patients daily and given proper instructions to take precautions and treatment.
• We are proud partners in the Implementation of National Health Programs like Pulse Polio.
