The Department has a computer laboratory with 45 PC's, 5 Printers, along with a server with internet facility. Department also has 2 OHP's, 5 LCD projectors and 2 Xerox machines. The Department is equipped with statistical packages SPSS 16.0, SYSTAT 12.0, MATLAB, Neurosolutions and STATISTICA 7.0. Recently under UGC -DRS (SAP I), the Department has acquired around 40 Desktops and established a new computer lab for Applied Statistics.

Seminar library has around 5,000 reference books for P.G. and Advanced level. Activities and Achievements: The Department is identified under UGC - DRS -SAP - I & Sap - II programme for the period 2011-16 & 2016-21 with thrust areas as Multivariate Data Analysis, Neural Networks, Big Data Analytics and Data Sciences and is awarded a grant of 62 Lakhs for the development of Research and Infrastructure.

Candidates with M.Sc (Statistics/Applied Statistics) degree are eligible to work as Junior lecturers in Mathematics (Vide LR. Rc. No. 639/ E1-1/81, dated 23.09.1986 of Secretary, Board of Intermediate Education, A.P.) and Statistics lecturers in Degree Colleges. Students completing M.Sc. course in Statistics/Applied Statistics (which includes some practical training in the use of computers) would be well equipped for Statistical Analysis of huge data with the use of computers and Statistics/ Mathematical packages. Besides teaching positions, they find employment in Industries, Insurance companies (Acturial), Directorate of Economics and Statistics, National Sample Surveys, NIC, Business Data Processing Organizations (BPO), Software Companies, Pharmaceutical companies and other research and development organizations within India and abroad.
