Student Profile


Students are evaluated continuously throughout the duration of course, it includes two internal assessment exams in each semester for postgraduate students and undergraduate students, the pattern of tests is similar to the competitive examinations which allow the students to familiarize and prepare them for these examinations.

PG students are allocated different assignments on the modern research methodologies and techniques. They procure the literature from internet and research articles available in the Department and submit a short write up for the same, which is evaluated by their respective mentors. Each student has to present a seminar lecture on the topic of her choice for about 1 hour. Their presentation skills and subject depth is evaluated by their faculty members.

M.Sc., Every Year about >20 M.Sc. Students are securing CSIR/UGC - JRF/NET Fellowships and Department of Chemistry, Osmania University is among the top 5 Universities in these examinations.

Every Year Topper of Department M.Sc. Student has securing DST-Inspire to pursue PhD programme.

 

Students Placements

Students are placed every year with

  • 10-15% - Industries such as Heterodrugs, Mylan, MSN labs, Suven life sciences, GVK Bio, Dr Reddys etc
  • 20-30% - Educational Institutions as Lecturers
  • 40% pursue Research

The total number of PhD students in Department of Chemistry is >100 (CSIR-UGC-JRF – 40, RGNF – 10, BSR - 10 & Non-NET – 10, Project Fellows– 10, remaining others)
