The University College of Commerce and Business Management (UCC&BM) was started as an independent unit in August 1975 with two departments, namely Department of Commerce and Department of Business Management. Earlier these two departments were a part of the University College of Arts and Social Sciences. In order to meet the requirements of accommodation for the Departments of Commerce and Business Management the present building was constructed. The college was shifted to the present building in 1988 from University Arts College building. It has been felt that there should be specific focus and emphasis both in teaching and research in respect of different subjects under the umbrella of Commerce and Management. The College represents these two faculties i.e. Faculty of Commerce and Faculty of Management
The University College of Commerce and Business management is one of the prime colleges in the Osmania University, located in the main campus, playing a pivotal Role in serving the society by shaping the careers of the students keeping in view the changing socio economic environment. The soul of the college founded on the philosophy that open consciousness inviting fresh energy contributes for healthy, balanced, stable, happy and peaceful environment and living. It echoes its talent and expertise through its two departments which are the two eyes of the college soul -Department of Commerce and Department of Management.
These departments position themselves in the market designing courses, syllabi, teaching methodologies in tune with the requirements of liberalized and global economies involving the stake holders particularly by maintaining close rapport with industry. The Human resources of both the departments have the excellent abilities not only in shaping the careers of the students but also engaging themselves in active research choosing current relevant topics of social interest involving the concerned.
Apart from shaping the input resource to suit to the dynamic environment, it provides opportunity to bring together the industry and our students by way of industry meets, arranging expert gust lectures with the expertise from industry, seminars, workshops, national conferences, and placement service. This effort gave encouraging result in the form absorption of significant number of our students in reputed organizations. The fragrances of the college and the departments are attracting not only the cream of the local needy but also international students.

Many teachers awarded Best Teacher Awards by Govt. of Telangana and Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.
The faculties of the college conducted a number of seminars and workshops on their own and also sponsored by UGC, ICSSR and others.
It is noted that quite good number of placements have been taken place in the department of commerce and business management.
Large numbers of students have qualified JRF, NET, Rajiv Gandhi Fellowships and ICSSR Fellowships and Post-Doctoral Fellowships.
The entire college has been redesigned and many other minor works were undertaken to give an aesthetic ambience to the college. The college has 24x7 wi-fi facility and CCTV surveillance at Computer Lab, Library and at parking.
The college is known for neat rest rooms and clean and green campus with land scape.
The college library has a collection of more than 44,218 books and is automated with centralised air condition, library opened from 8.30 a.m. to 9.00 p.m.
The total number of foreign students is 186 from various countries like: Iraq, Russia, Kenya, Ethiopia, Yemen, Tanzania, China, Iran, Nepal, Mongolia, Sudan, Afghanistan, Kazhakisthan, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, Jordan, Oman, Somalia, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Camaroon etc. The students of this college have participated in various Sports & Games at National and International level.
