Dr. Someswar R.Sagurthi has joined as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics (Biotechnology), Osmania University in the year of 2013. He pursued post graduationin Biotechnology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi during 1999 -2001, and was awarded post graduation diploma in Bioinformatics in 2002 from the same university. He received his Doctoral degree from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2009 fromthe Biophysics department for his work on, “Structural studies on capsid of physalis mottle virus&stress response proteins from Oriza sativa and Salmonella typhimurium”.He was qualified national level CSIR- NET eligibility test and his Ph.D. was funded by CSIR in the form of JRF and SRF from 2003 to 2008. He worked as a visiting faculty at Jamia Central Univeristy, New Delhi and Amity University at Noida in Uttar Pradesh during 2002-2003. He had assisted in several projects and trained masters and bachelor students in their projects in India and USA.Hehad fouryears of postdoctoral research experience in USA. He attended various national and international conferences and presented his research work and also as a keynote speaker in international conferences. To his credit, published several international research publications in peer reviewed Journals. Works as a educational trainer in the field of Bioinformatics across the Universities. Theresearch career was initiated in the field of Bioinformatics, Structural biology and Molecular medicine to study the proteins. Specialized in designing and biolchemical evaluation of drug lead molecules related to secondary diabetic complications, viral infections and Cancer. He acts as reviewer for high impact factor national, international journals and research grant.
