Osmania University is one of the oldest Universities
in India and is named after Nizam Mir Osman Ali
Khan, who ruled the area during
1911 - 1948.
The University buildings are splendid examples of
Indo-Persian and Arabic architecture. Founded in
1918, with a sprawling campus of nearly 1600 acres,
Osmania University is perhaps, the largest higher
education system in the Country. The campus also has
botanical garden and landscape gardens. In
recognition of its excellent academic achievements,
Osmania University had the distinction of being
awarded the FIVE STAR status in the year 2001 and A
GRADE by the National
Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC) of the
University Grants Commission. |

IQAC was constituted
in Osmania University in March 2005 under the
Chairmanship of the Vice-Chancellor to function as a
nodal agency of the institution for quality-related
issues.
Ever since its constitution,
IQAC, OU has proactively initiated several measures
leading to quality sustenance and quality
enhancement. It has strived to promote quality
consciousness among all the stake holders and
constituents of the institution through seminars,
workshops and meetings. It has also evolved
mechanisms to record and monitor the healthy
practices adopted by the various wings of the
institution. |
