Responsibilities
The Doctoral Fellows at the Centre will be responsible for the following:
The fellows (02 nos) selected under the category ‘Microbial Fermentations’ will be responsible for undertaking construction of microbial strains for probiotic applications, development of prebiotics and symbiotic formulations, granulation of symbiotic formulations and their shelf life studies, metabolic engineering of microbial isolates, biological activity of compounds produced by probiotics either by themselves or along with other project staff (post-doctoral fellows).
The fellow (01 no) selected under the category ‘Microbial Technology-1’ will be responsible for the development of microbial fusion proteins and studying their biological activities either alone or along with other project staff (post-doctoral fellows and interns).
The fellow (01 no) selected under the category ‘Microbial Technology-2’ will be responsible for undertaking whole genome sequencing of bacterial and fungal strains constructed by ‘Microbial Fermentations’ group and genome data analyses.
The selected doctoral fellows shall be offered admissions in the Ph.D. programme in one of the departments of Microbiology, Genetics or Biotechnology in Osmania University as per the university norms. Their research project for Ph.D. programs shall be similar to the works being conducted at the Centre. It is expected the Doctoral Fellows conduct research at the Centre that will lead to the award of Ph.D. degree. Besides the primary responsibilities mentioned above, the Doctoral Fellows will also help in conduct of education awareness programs, workshops, seminars, and other academic and research activities that the Centre will take up from time to time.
