Sir / Madam,

I am directed to sa that the Commission has been providing assistance to the colleges under the scheme title “Research Workshop / seminars / symposia and conferences in colleges”.  The basic objective of the scheme is to bring together academicians and experts from different parts of the country and abroad to exchange knowledge and ideas.  This will provide an in-depth analysis of subject and update knowledge of the participants as well as Research Institutions.  As per the Scheme guidelines, the college is required to submit a copy of the proceedings after the completion of seminars / symposia / conferences / workshops along with UCs / Income & Expenditure details and also a list of participant.

It was observed by the Director General of Audit, Central Revenue, New Delhi while auditing the accounts that although the reports of the seminars / symposia / conference / workshops were being received by the UGC Officers but the same were not being used and were only kept in the respective files.

In order to broaden the use of these reports / proceeding papers, you are requested to ask the colleges to send soft copy of the reports to INFLIBINET (a newly created web site of UGC) as well for circulation and also to various important Libraries / institutes dealing within that subject / areas, so that proper use / benefit of out come of the Seminars / Symposia / Conference / Workshops could be made

Yours Faithfully,

           (JOGINDER)

                                                                    Under Secretary
