Dr. M. Rama Rao

Asst.Professor

            He has specialized in International Law.  He stood First in LL.M. Course.  Practiced as an Advocate for (5) years in High Court and A.P. Administrative Tribunal.  He worked as Section Officer (Gazetted) for (8) years in A.P. Administrative Tribunal and joined as Part-time Lecturer in P.G.College of Law in the year 1988 and continued as such till his selection as full time Lecturer in February, 1992. 

            He taught various under-graduate (LL.B.) and P.G. Courses.  He has done Ph.D. on “Indian State Practice Relating to Sovereign Immunity with special reference to India”.  He worked as NSS Programme Officer for (4) years.  He was also a Member of Faculty of Law for (2) years and at present he is a Member of Board of Studies. 

            He has participated in various National Seminars. He was also gave Lectures as Resource person for the courses conducted by Department of Law and Hyderabad Central University (HCU) and currently teaching International Law and Socio-Economic Offences at LL.M. level

Dr. A.Narsing Rao

Asst.Professor

            Dr. A.Narsing Rao has obtained his B.Com., LL.B., LL.M. and Ph.D. degrees from Osmania University. He is having more than 14 years of teaching and administrative experience and specialized in Jurisprudence and Environmental Law. He held the positions of Principal, University College of Law and also Head, Department of Law, O.U.  He is a Gold Medalist in LL.M.

            He worked in Private Law Colleges affiliated to Osmania University before joining the University service.  He was Founder Principal, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Law College, Hyderabad, and his academic achievements includes  contribution of good number of articles and presentation of papers in various national and international seminars and workshops. He also organized four National Seminars in the Dept. of Law, O.U during his tenure as the Head of Dept., of Law, O.U. He is on the panel of guest faculty in reputed academic and training institutions. He was a member of A.P. High Court Legal Service Authority Committee. He acted paper setter and examiner in Law subjects for most of the Universities in A.P. and  Punjab Public Service Commission.

            He is currently teaching Jurisprudence at P.G. level and Business and Corporate Laws, Environmental Law and IPR subjects at UG and PG level

Dr. Mohammed Zaheeruddin

Principal

Graduated in Science with First Division from Osmania University and obtained his Law Degree  from Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Anantapur. He did his LL.M. Course from Osmania University with ‘Labour Law’ specialization in the year 1993 and secured highest marks in LL.M., Labour Law Branch  for which a Gold Medal was awarded  to him.

            In the year 1990 got enrolled as an Advocate and practiced in lower courts for a period of seven years.  In 1997 appeared for Judicial Service examination conducted by High Court of Andhra Pradesh and stood  State First  in Junior Civil Judges selections and in the same year has been selected for the Post of Assistant Public Prosecutor by the Director of Prosecution, Government of Andhra Pradesh. 

            He has joined in University Service in Osmania University as Assistant Professor in the year 1997 and obtained Ph.D. Degree in June 1999.  He is author of two books namely, ‘A Hand Book for Judicial Service Examiniations’ and ‘A Hand Book on Indian Constitution, Criminal Major and Minor Acts’. Labour Law is his specialization and  he has also interested in Family Law and Criminal Law subject

Prof. Ahmedullah Khan, B.Sc., LL.M., Ph.D., MA (IS),  - Dean, Faculty of Law  

He has specialized in Labour Laws and Muslim Law.  He stood first in LL.M. examination and received Justice P. Jaganmohan Reddy, Gold Medal and Justice R.S. Naik Memorial Gold Medal.  Stood first in MA (Islamic Studies).  Worked as Professor and Head , Department of Law and member Academic Senate of the Nagarjuna University (1987-89) and Chairman Board of Studies, S P Mahila University, Tirupathi.  

He was appointed by His Excellency the President of India as Visitor’s nominee to the Faculty of Law, University of Delhi (1989-1993).  Worked as Director Osmania Oriental Research & Publication Bureau, a 110 years old worked renowned research institution (1995 – 1998).  Worked as Principal PG College of Law (1984-1987), Head, Department of Law (1996-97), Principal, University College of Law (1999-2001).  He has produced 8 Ph.Ds and, published 3 books and 75 articles in legal and other journals including newspapers.  He is also a member of the Executive Council of Osmania University.  Presently teaching Labour Law / Research Methodology.  He was invited to U S A to deliver lectures on socio-legal topics in New York, New Jersey, Chicago and Minnesota.  The Government of A.P. appointed him as Chairman, Drafting Committee to draft Wokf Legislation exclusively for the State of A.P.

Dr. A. Narsing Rao, B.Com., LL.M., Ph.D.  

Dr. A. Narsing Rao, B.Com. LL.M. Ph.D., Principal, University College of Law,  O.U. and Head of the Department of Law, O.U., Member Academic Senate, O.U., with twelve years of teaching and administrative experience has specialized in Jurisprudence and Environmental Law.  He is a Gold Medalist in LL.M. and gained considerable administrative experience by working in Private Law colleges affiliated to the University before joining the University service.

He contributed good number of articles and presented papers in various seminars and workshops and also organized seminars.  Delivered Lectures in Academic Staff College, OU and A.P. Judicial Academy as Resource person.  He is also paper setter and examiner in Law Subjects for most of the Universities in A.P.  He is considered as an able teacher and good administrator.  Taught Jurisprudence at P.G. Level apart from many other subjects at U G level and is currently teaching Jurisprudence, Business Laws, Environmental Law and IPR subjects.  

Dr. G.B. Reddy, B.A., LL.M., Ph.D., PGDHR. - Head

Born on 25.06.1967 in R.R. District, obtained LL.B., LL.M. and Ph.D. from Osmania University and P.G. Diploma in Human Rights from Hyderabad Central University.  University Topper and Triple Gold Medalist in LL.B. and Gold Medalist in LL.M. Secured Ph.D on ‘Judicial Activism of Supreme Court’ as a Junior Research Fellow of UGC.  

Author of seven well received books and 23 articles published in Standard Law Journals.  His two books ‘Women & the Law’ and ‘Judicial Activism in India’ were favourably reviewed in the Hindu by Justice V R Krishna Iyer.  Successfully organized a National Seminar on ‘Fifty Years of Indian Constitution Experiences and Expectations’ in August, 2000.  Delivered lectures in various UGC Refresher Courses and Seminars as Resource person.  Attended more than 15 national seminars and conferences.  Visiting Faculty at various institutions including A.P. Police Academy, A.P. Excise Academy and ICADR.  Recognized as Research Supervisor for guiding Ph.D. scholars in Department of law of Osmania University.  Held positions of NSS Programme officer, warden and presently working as Vice-Department of Law of Osmania University.  Held positions of NSS Programme officer, Warden and presently working as Vice-Principal.  He was one of the faculty members instrumental in introduction of P.G. Diploma in IPR in the department.  His teaching subjects include Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and Intellectual Property Law for LL.B., and Comparative Constitutional Law for LL.M. students.  His current areas of special interest are IPR and Gender Justice, Joined University service in 1997, Prior to that practiced as advocate fro about six and half years in the High Court of Andhra Pradesh.

Dr. G. Kameswari, B.Sc., LL.M., Ph.D. - Assistant Professor

Did LL.B. (won three Gold Medals) and LL.M. (Stood first in Branch VI) from the P.G. College of Law, Osmania University.  Subject of specialization in LL.M. are Crimes and Torts.  Joined the University as Lecturer in February 1992.  Registered for Ph.D. in Law in the Osmania University in 1993 and completed Ph.D. in August 1998.  Topic of Research was ‘A study of Anti-Corruption Laws in India with special reference to Andhra Pradesh.’  

Has been teaching various subject of law at under graduate level (Law of Crimes, Law of Torts, Jurisprudence and Interpretation of Statutes and postgraduate level (General Principles of Criminal Law, Criminology and penology, Socio-economic Offences and Specific Torts).  Also published articles in reputed journals on a variety of topics in Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law and Family Law.  The number being 19, 17 of which are post-doctoral publications and 2 pre-doctoral publications.  Also sent papers to seminars conducted by various Indian Universities, Bar Association of India, All India Law Teachers Association and Indian Institute of Victomology which have been accepted for presentation.

Sri V. Venkata Ramana, B.Com., LL.M. - Assistant Professor

Joined the University Service as Lecturer in Law on 20.06.1992, Area of Specialization Labour Law. Teaching both Under Graduate (LL.B.) and Post-Graduate (LL.M) students from 1992 at P.G. College of Law and University College of Law.  Currently teaching Business Laws, Labour Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution.  

He worked as Vice-Principal of P.G. College of Law for more than two years.  Also worked as NSS Programme Officer for four years at P.G. College of Law.  Also participated in Orientation and Training Programme for NSS Programme Officers and Refresher Training Programme.  He has participated in three National Seminars and also attended two Refresher courses and One Orientation course for Law teachers conducted by UGC.  Acted as Examiner for various Universities in A.P.  

Dr. Y.J. Jaya Kumar, MA, ML, Ph.D. - Chairperson, BoS in Law

Born on 27.02.1957, obtained MA Degree in Political Science from Sri Venkateswara University, B.L. from V R Law College, Nellore in 1982, M L From SVU in 1984, Ph.D. from Osmania University in 1994.  Joined Osmania University in 1989.  Specialized in Constitutional Law and International Law.  Published 7 articles on various topics of law in standard Law journals, Attended more than 10 national seminars and presented papers.  Member, Faculty of Law, O U Departmental Committee, national seminars and presented papers. 

Member, Faculty of Law, O U Departmental Committee, Department of Law and Board of Papers Setters, Kerala University.  Special area of interest is Family Law.   Teaching Indian Constitutional Law and Comparative Constitutional Law for LL.M. Students, Family Law, Women and the Law and Evidence for LL.B. students.  Visiting Faculty at Cooperative Training Academy, Road Transport Academy and ICADR.  Organized Refresher Course on Human Rights for Degree College teachers as Coordinator in October, 2001.

Dr. Y. Pratap Reddy, B.Sc., LL.M., Ph.D. - Assistant Professor

He received his B.Sc., B.L., and M.A. degrees from Sri Venkateswara University; LL.M. and Ph.D. degree from Osmania University.  He obtained LL.M. degree with specialization in the field of Jurisprudence.  He is also recipient of Two Gold Medals for securing the highest marks in LL.M.  He did his Ph.D. an a socially relevant subject of ‘Socio-Economic Justice through Public Interest Litigation’.  He joined the Faculty in 1989 after serving five years as a Law lecturer in a private Law College. 

He teachers Jurisprudence, Principles of Legislation, Interpretation of Statutes, Administrative Law, Evidence, Torts, Consumer Protection etc.  He has published a number of papers in learned journals.  He has keen interest in the areas of Human Rights, Prison justice, Juvenile Justice, Consumer Protection.

Dr. S.B. Dwarakanath, B.A., LL.M., Ph.D. - Assistant Professor

Dr. Sripathi Dwaranath graduated in Law from University College of Law, Osmania University.  He completed his Master’s degree in Law specializing in International Law from the same University and registered for Ph.D. which he completed in 1994 and was awarded the degree in the same year.  He has been on Teaching Faculty of Law of Osmania University for the past 13 years teaching various subjects of Law such as International Law, Principles of Equity, Banking Law, Law of Crimes, Criminal Procedure Code, Intellectual Property Rights, Law of Torts and Consumer Protection for the LL.B. Course. 

He also teaches International Law of War, International Humanitarian Law, Law of the Sea, Air and Outer Space and Research Methodology for the post graduate students of law.  His area of Specialization is International Law.  He has published several articles in recognized legal journals, discharged duties as Programme Officer, N S S Law College Unit.  He attended several international and national conferences relating to International Humanitarian Law and Refugee Law and Intellectual Property Rights.  Participated in Refresher courses and Orientation courses and also attended a Training Programme for Law teachers in the field of International Humanitarian Law and Refugee Law at Cochin, Kerala.  He served as a Member on the Faculty of Law, University of Kerala, Trivandrum.

Dr. Y. Vishnupriya, MA, ML, Ph.D. - Assistant Professor

Has obtained BA and MA degree from Andhra University, Waltair.  She has obtained her LL.B., LL.M. and Ph.D. Degrees from Nagarjuna University, Guntur.  She also holds a P G Diploma in Personnel Management, Industrial relations and Labour Welfare from Andhra Pradesh Productivity Council.  he has conducted on empirical survey on child labour in Slate Industry in Markapur, Prakasam District, Andhra Pradesh. 

SShe has been teaching to law students since 1989. Her specialization is Labour Law and other interest subjects are; Law of Contracts, Family Law, Women and Law and Child and Law.  She participated in 16^th World Congress on Law, Justice and State, held at Rekjavick, Iceland in 1993 and presented a paper on the ‘Legal Rights of Children’.  She also participated in International Conference on ‘Future Hope: Environment, Health and Children’ held at Vignan Bhavan, New Delhi in 1994 and presented a paper on ‘A new World Order with Children’.  Participated in 5 National Seminars and presented papers.  Published 20 articles on different Legal issues in various legal Journals like Madras Law Journal, Supreme Court Journal, Indian Bar Review, Academy of Law, Indian Socio-Legal Journal, labour and industrial cases etc.

Dr. N. Maheshwara Swamy, MA, LL.M., Ph.D., PGDIRPM, PGDIPR, (MBA) - Assistant Professor

Has obtained Ph.D. (Law) in 1992 from Osmania University, LL.M. (Labour Law), (1984), MA (Economics), (1975), P.G. Diploma in IRPM (1985); P G Diploma in IPR, (2001); (MBA), Has sufficient Knowledge in Microsoft Word and Internet Operations.  Has about 14 years of teaching experience.  Subjects taught: Constitutional Law of India, Labour Law, Family Law, Legal Remedies, DPC, Environmental Law, ILO, Comparative Trade Union Law, ID Act, 1947. 

Is the recognized supervisor for Ph.D. (Law) and LL.M. Had actively practiced as an Advocate at the High Court of Andhra Pradesh (1994 to 1997).  Was a Co-Editor, ALT Law Journal (1996-97).  Delivered number of invited extension lectures of Public organizations like A.P. Judicial Academy.  Attended and presented papers Legal Text Books (13 as on date) and Research Papers/Articles (75 as on date).  Rendered free Legal Advice/Legal aid and literary programmes.  Handled a Project on : ‘Protection of Child Rights.’ (to be completed) sponsored jointly by A.P. Judicial Academy and UNICEF.  Has about 16 years of research experience in the field of law.  His area of specialization in Labour Law, Environmental Law; Drafting, Pleading and Conveyancing.  He is the Life Member of ISV.

Dr. K. Panth Naik, BA, LL.M, Ph.D. - Vice-Principal

Born on 17.02.1962, at Jethuram Thanda, Gollapally (v) Chegunta (M) Medak (District) A.P. India.  Did BA, from Nizam College Osmania University in 1987.  LL.M. from P.G. College of Law, O U in 1993.  Ph.D. from Osmania University in 2002.  Topic of Research for Ph.D. is ‘The concept of Federalism under Indian Constitution with Special reference to Administration of Justice. 

‘The Area of interest is Constitutional Law and culture of Scheduled Tribes (ST) with special reference to Lambadas (Banjaras).  Published Four articles in standard law journals.  Participated in two National Seminars and one Refresher course and Orientation course.  Was Warden of E-I and EII Hostels for two years from 1998 – 2000; N S S Programme Officer at present.  Teaching subjects for LL.B. Cr.P.C., T.P. Act and Administrative Law, and for LL.M. Constitutional and Administrative Law.
