Preamble

Osmania University envisages its role as a key provider of quality higher education at affordable cost. It seeks to play a pro-active role in the establishment of a knowledge-based society and in expanding educational opportunities for all. Its mission is to achieve excellence in teaching and research and facilitate advancement of knowledge and human resource development in the service of the nation.

The University seeks to reiterate its commitment for high standards of service to the students, parents and public at large through the instrument of Citizens’ Charter. Towards this end, it has evolved an institutional framework and set up co-ordination and control mechanisms for rendering various services. The citizens’ charter has been drawn up with a view to provide fuller information and quicker services to the public. In doing so, the University seeks to bring in transparency, responsiveness and accountability in its functioning.

Statement of Services

The interface of the University as a public institution encompasses a wide spectrum of services. Information Services

General information about the University and detailed information about the various courses and colleges are available from the University website (www.osmania.ac.in). It has links with websites of University Campus and Constituent Colleges Viz., Nizam College (www.nizamcollege.ac.in), University College of Engineering (www.uceou.edu) as well as with the Examination Branch and CDE (www.oucde.ac.in). etc.

The printed publications include the brochures and handbooks of the Campus and constituent Colleges including the district P.G. Centres and the CDE. These can be had from the respective institutions for reference. They contain information about Courses, Almanacs, Fees & Scholarships. General Information about the University and its programmes and activities can be had from the Public Relations Office, Osmania University, Administrative Building, O.U. during working hours.
